Tax Administration Response to COVID-19

As we continue to closely monitor the global development of the COVID-19, which has been declared a pandemic and with the Bahamas’ recorded cases increasing, please be assured that the safety of our internal and external stakeholders is of paramount concern. Additional extraordinary and emergency measure have been added to create the new Emergency Order No 2. The new order came into effect on Tuesday 24 March, 2020 at 9am and will expire on 31 March, 2020. We are making every effort to continue to provide service while safeguarding the well-being and safety of all.

 

We encourage customers to continue to use our online tax platform (OTAS) via www.vat.revenue.gov.bs which affords access to a wide range of filing, payment and other services from anywhere, at any time. This includes filing and paying business related taxes, filing returns and paying Value Added Tax and making requests for a Tax Compliance Certificate. The Real Property Tax payment portal may also be accessed for RPT payments- www.propertytax.gov.bs.

Regular Business Licence, Value Added Tax and Real Property Tax payments may continue to be made via our online platforms as indicated above or through the Royal Bank of Canada.
